INTERGENERATIONAL SOLIDARITY IN UNDERSTANDING AND THE MANIFESTATION OF PATRIOTISMIN THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY OF THE FEDERAL PENITENTIARY SERVICE OF RUSSI
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
In the current tense geopolitical situation, intergenerational continuity in understanding and expressing patriotism in the professional community of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the governing body of the Russian penal system, is a necessary condition for ensuring social security in the country and preventing recidivism. The essence of the problem of patriotism in this service is that, although the vast majority of its employees, as well as cadets of departmental educational organizations, consider themselves patriots, there is a need to study the real types of their patriotic behavior and the dominant trend in its dynamics in order to determine the directions for improving pessimistic education on this basis. The purpose of the empirical study was to identify signs of intergenerational continuity in the understanding of patriotism and intergenerational solidarity in its manifestation in the professional community of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The study was based on the assumption that the staff and cadets have a similar understanding of patriotism, show this feeling in their behavior andidentify themselves as patriots of their country. The study sample consisted of two groups: employees (the older generation of the professional community) and cadets (the younger generation) of 127 people in both groups. Identified and compared: definitions of the concept of "patriotism"; signs of patriotism in each other's behavior; self-assessment of feeling like a patriot of Russia; types of patriotic behavior; indicators of "blind" and "constructive patriotism. As a result, it was found: a pronounced similarity in indicators of patriotism, which is characterized by: a declaration of strong feelings of oneself as patriots; a clearly dominant ideological type of patriotic behavior and moderately pronounced problematic and conformal types; a clear predominance in bothgenerations of high-level constructive patriotism over moderate "blind"; only one group difference was found – in indicators of problematic type of patriotic behavior (this indicator is higher among employees). In conclusion, a forecast of the dynamics of patriotism in this professional community is given.
