The review analyzes the main results of Elena Vladimirovna Shestakova's dissertation research "Criminological counteraction to socially dangerous behavior of minors by specialized institutions of law enforcement agencies", submitted for the degree of Candidate of Law. The relevance of the topic of the dissertation research, the degree of validity of the author's conclusions, their reliability, the novelty of the formulated provisions, the practical and theoretical significance of the main results obtained by the dissertation are evaluated. The author's conclusions formulated in the course of the study are critically evaluated, which can become the basis for further scientific research in the field of preventing socially dangerous behavior of minors, in particular, on the content of criminological counteraction to socially dangerous behavior by specialized institutions of law enforcement agencies. The opponent concluded that the results of the study are of interest to a wide range of subjects in the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency. The material collected by the dissertation, judgments and conclusions deserve support, have a certain importance for the development of science and practice. The provisions and conclusions are based on a voluminous empirical base, including data from specific sociological studies conducted personally by the author and presented in the dissertation. In conclusion, the author comes to the conclusion that the research conducted by Elena Vladimirovna Shestakova is an independent scientific and qualifying work, which contains the solution of tasks that are essential for the development of the sciences of criminal law and criminology, relevant legislation and the practice of its application.
