Abstract (English):
Each convict sentenced to imprisonment is obliged to work in places determined by administration of correctional institutions (p.1 Art. 103 the Penal Code of the Russian Federation).Problems of the organization of work of convicts concern not only scientists and public figures, but also all citizens of the country bearing a burden of taxes on keeping criminals in correctional institutions who don’t work for various reasons. At the same time financial results of the work of convicts go both for compensation of damage to persons who suffered in the crime, and for compensation of the costs of the state of keeping convicts in prisons.Administration of correctional institutions doesn’t take concrete and effective measures of creating jobs and in this connection organization of work of convicts experiences difficulties, dynamics of employment of convicts sentenced to impprisonment is extremely unsatisfactory.Considering that the Penal Code of the Russian Federation investigates work in correctional institutions as a means of reform of criminals, the penal system must undertake measures to create the number of jobs that is necessary for all able-bodied convicts.
