An essential stage in preparing for the interrogation of a suspected or accused person is the study of the individual, that is the analysis of personal characteristics of a criminal. It is aimed at establishing psychological contact, determining the tactics of questioning, understanding and explaining the person’s behavior, actions, speech, exposing the lies and evaluating the evidence of the person interrogated. When preparing for the interrogation in a detention center, the investigator gets some initial idea of the person interrogated and therefore is able to pay attention to those personality traits that can contribute to further establishment of a positive psychological contact or to further study the person under interrogation by carrying out additional investigation if the contact has not been established.
