Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the problem of public law and criminal law classification of law enforcement activities of special purpose units of the penal enforcement system that perform law enforcement functions in the field of combating crime. The classification of law enforcement activities of the penitentiary special forces units is given. The article considers the public-legal activity of special forces units during a special operation to stop hostage-taking, mass riots. The article contains recommendations on the use of weapons by special purpose officers of the penal system in specific situations. In addition, measures aimed at improving the law enforcement activities of these units have been identified.
