Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article presents the results of an empirical study of the structure of behavioral indicators of social activity of future correctional officers. The purpose of the study is to identify the level of development and structural features of the behavioral components of social activity among cadets as future employees of penitentiary institutions. Research objectives: to determine the level of development of behavioral components of social activity among cadets, to study the hierarchical structure (dominant and subordinate positions) of these components in groups with different levels of social activity, to identify significant differences in the severity of behavioral indicators of cadets with high, medium and low levels of social activity, to establish correlations between different behavioral indicators in each of the selected groups. The study involved 166 2nd – 3rd year cadets of the Vladimir Law Institute of the FPS of Russia. The main method was an expert assessment (5 experts: course officers and psychologists). Behavioral manifestations of social activity were assessed by 17 indicators grouped into four components: intellectual- volitional, emotional-volitional, moral and communicative. Descriptive statistics methods, analysis of variance, Student's t-test, and correlation analysis were used to process the data. The study revealed three groups of cadets with different levels of social activity: high (36.14 %), medium (32.53 %) and low (31.33 %). Significant differences between the groups have been established. The results of the study indicate the need for targeted development of intellectual, volitional and communicative components in the process of cadets' professional training in order to form an active professional position, which is a key requirement for correctional personnel.
